Do tasks together. Especially with boys when you work together, conversation happens. Again if you genuinely listen to your kids will tell you their struggles.
When your kids are complaining, or venting I suggest asking leading questions about what they could have done better in the situation.
When they do wrong make sure they own their transgressions. Far too often parents overlook this window to their child’s heart. If your child tries to blame others for why they did wrong… you need to train them out of that negative behavior.
The more effort you put into giving tools and letting them learn and have natural consequences the more equipped your child is for adulthood.
