🤷🏼♀️ Did you know that the South Dakota State Flower is the American Pasque and was designated this in 1903?! These tall grass prairie flowers grow wild throughout my great state!
They have many names, such as: May Day flower, prairie crocus, wind flower, Easter flower, and meadow anemone.
The pasque is one of the first flowers to bloom each Spring, sometimes before the snowed has melted! The flower was also used as medicine in the Native American communities for centuries.
