Today is 10 years since the first episode of Parks and Recreation! It doesn’t feel that long (considering I just binged it all for the first time last year 😆) but it deserves the recognition. It’s such a funny and endearing show, with a lot of similarities to The Office (the same writers created this show) and it’s the same mockumentary style, however they are not actually being filmed as The Office was, they are just monologues for the characters. And great characters they are! Everyone is so perfect for their roles and each are a little over the top but hilarious. They really seem like a family on this show and there are a lot of heartfelt couples moments between Leslie and Ben (Amy Poehler and Adam Scott) and April and Andy (Aubrey Plaza and Chris Pratt). Rashida Jones is very sweet as Ann Perkins (which Rob Lowe loves to repeat) and Nick Offerman is priceless as deadpan Ron Swanson. If you haven’t watched it and love The Office, check it out, you might even love it more. 😉
