Today we experienced Uluru. We arrived mid morning after a little explore around by car. We had a big discussion on weather to climb the rock or not as I wasn’t comfortable with the idea and Xan was not keen on exerting himself lol. After having a read of the signage which clearly asks everyone not to climb the rock due to Uluru being sacred to the local indigenous tribes, we of course decided against it. There were many people who made the climb to conquer Uluru. We instead connected with Uluru and its stunning surroundings and history.
Unfortunately the experiences outside the landmark its self haven’t been all positive with a massive feeling of “white man” making a buck off everything around Uluru. We ended our day with very mixed emotions 🧐
