Some go their whole life without finding the right companion, in marriage or friendship.
I would like to think I’m one of the lucky ones.
We met our senior year of high school and started dating after a few months into the school year.
Our relationship survived through the college years. But not without our fair share of challenges.
Then we were engaged.
We made it down the aisle with a 12 week old in tow.
We’ve since had 3 more babes. We’ve been through job changes, that almost broke us. Deaths that reminded us to hold on tighter.
We’ve had our finical struggles.
We’ve created a beautiful family together.
We may not physically have a place that’s home, but we’ve created a feeling of ‘home’ within each other.
One day all our children will be grown, having amazing adventures of their own and finding their someone. Their companions to go through life with.
So each day we work hard to show up for each other, to work on our flaws, to play to our strengths. To survive these crazy years.
Because one day it’ll be just the two of us.
And I look forward to spending the rest of our days together.
