UPDATE: I am a vegetarian now and loving it! •
Why? You might ask. I noticed myself having digestive issues about 4-5 years ago. I would get bloated almost all the time, experienced acid reflux consistently, had trouble using the bathroom regularly, and my skin started breaking out more. In the beginning I tried the traditional method of going to the doctor and taking prescribed medicine. I really didn’t like the approach I was taking. It didn’t feel healthy, worked less than half the time, and I felt like I was masking the problem vs getting to the root cause.

I knew my body had a lot of acid in it, so I started incorporating more alkalinizing foods in my diet (lemons, greens, etc). This helped way more than the medicine I was previously taking. I came to the realization that the root cause of my health problems was the food I was eating.

At the end of 2018 I learned about some of the side effects meat/animal products have on the body. They can cause inflammation, autoimmune diseases, pump your body full of unwanted hormones and GMO’s, many products have bad bacteria, and they are hard for the body to digestion. Also, studies show that eating processed meats may cause cancer. To top it all off, the more I learn about the meat and dairy industry, the more I am horrified and disgusted by it. I feel so much better about not supporting the meat and dairy industry today. Not only does my heart feel better about it, but my body does too.

I have been vegetarian for almost 3 months now and it is so great! I don’t see myself ever going back because of how much better I feel eating plant-based. I no longer notice digestive issues, my acid refluxes are completely gone, my face has been clearer, and I can tell my body is healthier overall.
