Sometimes I forget to really breathe. It’s baffling how something so essential to life can be so easily forgotten, or how instincts are overthrown by meaningless stress. It’s a real sign of the damage the daily distractions thrown at us can cause. Our lives depend on our breath, we need it to live. So if we’re not truly breathing are we truly living? So much time is spent in our heads that we can even forget how to feel. The mind is a magnificent tool that serves a purpose, but we shouldn’t be living up there detached from the world.
