To celebrate International Women’s Day we want to show some appreciation for 3 iconic women who shaped surf history! Without these badass women, surfing just wouldn’t be the same today! 
1. Without Princess Kaiulani, there might not be surfing at all! After Missionaries outlawed surfing in Hawaii it was Princess Kaiulani who defied them all and paddled out to sea to lead her people back to ocean! Her bravery should be honoured!

2. Margo Oberg is considered to be the first professional female surfer. She came up through the ranks of men during the shortboard revolution and became a world champion! 
3. Sarah Gerhardt...we salute you! Sarah was the first woman to surf Mavericks in 1999. She showed everyone that big wave surfing wasn’t just for the likes of men!
