There is no secret to motivation.

Motivation is a feeling and feelings are fickle and unpredictable. They ebb and flow. They’re unreliable.

Are you motivated to do the dishes? Wash your hair? Sweep the floor? Put gas in your car?

No, But you do it anyway because the consequences of not doing that thing outweigh the effort.

A fitness lifestyle needs the same approach.

You’re not going to magically wake up one day, have an epiphany, and suddenly want to stick to your diet and workout program forever.

When the initial feel-good factor wears off and those hard days start creeping in, you still have to show up and do the work.

Wishes, hopes, and dreams aren’t going to be enough. You’re going to need to rely on your HABITS.

For this, I would encourage you to re-frame your goal.

Instead of obsessing over the end result, focus on creating long-term sustainable habits you can maintain for the rest of your life.

This means taking the time to figure out your “forever plan” by discovering healthy foods you love and exercise you look forward to. Because if you hate it, you won’t sustain it.

Then, the journey is no longer about fat loss obsession, but rather being consistent in your exercise, eating more vegetables, or waiting until you’re hungry to eat.

Perfect your daily process and the results will follow.
