Are you ready to begin a FAT LOSS phase or Contest Prep?

We do not have a weight-loss problem, it’s a problem keeping the weight off. @biolayne has said on many occasions, and guess what, he’s right! That statistics back him up.

So what is the real problem with keeping weight off?. To me the issue is the way that somebody thinks about food. The mental approach to eating and dieting really needs to be taken into consideration before you start a fat loss phase or contest prep. Make sure you have a healthy relationship with food and understand that it does not control your life.

Understand that what you’re about to embark on is going to be a short term phase with the contest prep, or a complete lifestyle change with fat loss in order to make it sustainable moving forward.
Really ask yourself, “Do I have a good relationship with food?” If you can answer that honestly you’ll have very little issues with any fat loss phase or Contest Prep from a mental standpoint.

Dieting is hard, making sustainable fat loss lifestyle changes is hard, so you have to make sure that your mind is tough. Make sure that you don’t use food as a comfort mechanism, or abuse food as a way of coping...understand the importance of nutrition in your life.

Many of you know but some who are recently new to following along on my journey may not, but I nearly lost my life 7 years ago to an eating disorder. That battle dragged on for many years and the biggest thing I took away from it after receiving help and recovering was that it was NEVER ABOUT THE FOOD! It was about something much deeper, but I used food and exercise to help cope and it went to far.

Sit back and question yourself...”Why do I want to lose this fat? Am I doing it for me or for someone else?” Ask yourself, “Why do I want to Prep? Do I think about food and my body in a positive way or is doing a Prep my way of thinking positively about myself because of how I’ll look?” If you aren’t happy with the answer then get help and take care of the underlying issues before using dieting or prep as a way to cope! Take it from me, using food and exercise as a coping mechanism for a deeper issue will only put you in a deeper, darker hole!
