Every day I walk into my oasis of an office and this is the first sign I see. It’s a prominent reminder of my continual prayer to grow a heart rooted in the fruit of the Spirit, although this is far easier said than done; especially when you’re dealing with situations fueled with an unbelievable amount of frustration. As humans we often feel justified in our anger. We feel the right to pointlessly shout at the slow car in front of us, complain to our sub par waitress or yell at the person on the other end of the fedloan phone call, but the heart of Christ flourishes in the fullness of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control and on days like today I’m longing for more of a Jesus heart.
