The crab market in Kep is a must visit for every foodie and seafood lover. It’s at the waterfront where the crab ladies try to sell their catch of the day. The cages remain in the sea water until someone comes to buy them. Seafood doesn’t get any fresher than this! 🦀

After you’ve haggled your way to a good price, head over to the market kitchen where they cook your crab for a fee of $2,50. Have them boiled or steamed, but the best option hands down is the fried crab with Kampot green pepper. I was very curious to try this famous dish and wasn’t dissapointed. It was fantastic! Don’t be fooled if it seems a bit messy in the pic, that’s just the delicious sauce sticking to every inch of the crab. Kampot pepper is best when used in seafood dishes according to the locals. Who am I to disagree? 😋
