I have been living KETO for about 20 months now. There are so many benefits that come along with a keto lifestyle, weight loss being the number one reason why most decide to try keto. I dropped about 15 lbs the first few months but honestly I have just stuck with this kind of living because it makes me feel real good. I have more energy, my mind is more clear and focused, I no longer experience bloating and my sugar cravings are almost non existent.
-
Before deciding to try keto, I did all the research on the diet itself. I then bought a few keto books for more knowledge and for meal ideas. The biggest key to staying in ketosis is to keep your carbs very low, your protein moderate and your fat very high, so tracking your food is vital. I figured out my macros (5%Carbs, 20%Protein, 75%Fat) and tracked them using MyFitnessPal. Ever since starting keto I have continuously met with @fitnessdynasty to track my progress and discuss how I am feeling. Not only has she provided massive amounts of encouragement for me along this journey, she has tweaked my macros and calories here and there to reflect my goals. πŸ“

To be honest, the past year I have maintained the same weight, and that’s ok with me. My focus is no longer weight loss, my focus is to feel good. I have found a good balance with this keto living. I give myself cheat meals or cheat days or even cheat weeks. I even sometimes supplement my diet with ketones if I decide to eat non keto. I never feel like I am restricting myself or not allowing myself to indulge. I definitely feel FREE with this kind of living.
