Riverside Winter, day three, No. 5. Since Spring is just around the corner (well, not really, but let’s pretend), here’s a leafy shot of the previous post’s next door neighbor and one of my very favorite along the Drive: Gaetan Ajelllo’s masterpiece the Miramar, No. 454 between W116-119 (an uninterrupted 3 block stretch of harmonious architecture just south of Riverside Church.) This Renaissance Revival beauty from 1909-1910 with a recessed entrance is dressed in white glazed brick, limestone and terra cotta, and wears it well. .
