When I wrote my first book, I didn’t waste the money...I put it back into my business. However, I did make some mistakes along the way. Here are a few mistakes I made:
💯 Using designers I was unfamiliar with, didn’t have a relationship with, and didn’t require a contract. So I ended up losing $500-$1000 on a book cover that was never completed.
📚📚📚📚📚📚📚
💯 Buying too many courses, many of which ended up being too many distractions. Because the information seemed good, at the time I didn’t realize it ultimately wasn’t going to help me reach my destination. I learned not to become blinded by the hype.
📚📚📚📚📚📚
💯 Mixing my book profits with my personal bank account. Although I had my business incorporated, I didn’t have a separate account for money I generated from my book, therefore tax time was less than favorable due to my merging of the two.
📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚
A lot of these mistakes I learned through trial and error, but they helped me to grow as a business woman and develop into a coach. Be wise. Have contracts in place. Create a business account. Stop jumping from coach to coach, product to product...and not implementing any of them. Choose one you vibe well with, you’ve had success at doing what you want to do, who you can learn from, and who you can grow with.
