🏵Truth Moment🏵 So BJ still sleeps with me avidly! I mean refuses to sleep all night in his bed and truly I haven’t mind not enforcing it. Except for my lack of sleep. 😔With husband out of town for work most of the time, it’s like a comfort to me ya know, to have him right there. • • But what I’ve created is a little handsome monster that goes to Aunties’ and Nana’s houses and wants to be rocked to sleep and won’t sleep too well without being able to touch them at night. • • Many will say that’s not a big deal and he’s still young but for me and the way Brandon and I have schedules that will be constantly moving, I needed him to begin to gain his confidence in sleeping in his bed at night. For him, comfort and independence and for me to finally get a good nights rest and me time before bed without a foot to the face waking me up 🤣 • • Fast forward to me out of town and Brandon being at home with him. Long story short, night ended with BJ in his “own” room, in his “own” bed, the entire night and did not get up. Yea yea.. dad knocked this one out of the park! ⚾️ • • I say this to say, sometimes it can be us mom.. projecting our insecurities of loneliness or covert safety onto our little ones. Continue to be the awesome mom you are and teach your children love and safety. 💝 But also teach independence. • • For me the hardest part is leaving him period but I’m realizing that he’s more independent, strong willed, and secure than I give him credit for. • • Thanks to my hubby/best friend @b_j_parker65 and I having this conversation last night and him letting me know he understands my worries but we can instill independence together. I can let go (just a little😁) and not hold the reins so tight. I can start his crib training again and if he reverts a day or so, so what?! 🤷🏽‍♀️ My now two year old is growing just nicely and I have to say that I’m one proud mama!
