A truly amazing and superfluous rendition of the Patek World Time :

Two areas where I feel Patek are undisputed at: World Timers and miniature enamel paintings. One only needs to look at the shadows casted by the buildings and the tiny ripples in the lake to understand the magnificent level of detail. The craftsmanship above the rarity has led me to place this in the Holy Grail series. The scene depicts (in cloisonné enamel) a sailboat on Lake Geneva and was launched in 2014 in just 20 examples (and a further 20 for women with diamond bezel) for the 175th anniversary of Patek Philippe. This was also the first modern enamel world timer that sees the logo on the dial as opposed to a careful engraving on the case. I’m mostly a vintage guy through and through. Nevertheless, this remains, deservingly so, one of my favourite Pateks of all time.

The enamel centre is based on the works of Louis Baudit, a 20th century oil painter (1870-1960) from Rouen, France. Many of his works were featured when Patek reopened their Geneva Salon, displayed on the top floor. Amongst his most famous paintings, remain his depictions of sailboats.
