Medal Monday, minus the medal because there wasn’t one. —
Wow. That was hard. In both directions we waded through the estuary that was mid thigh deep. This was the most challenging aspect for me because I felt like I didn’t want I do it both ways. It was actually fine and was another of the many moments when running and sport proves me wrong about my belief in my own capabilities. My head torch died and when it was alive it barely made a difference so that made this a bit more challenging that it needed to be. I walked a lot. This was a 100% “it wasn’t fast but it was done” moment. Luckily I had my phone on me for a torch and found my way around the route despite definitely losing to the light. The light won this year... let’s see about next year.
