It was funny, before I got to the show, I was wondering... thinking to myself which poem of mine I was going to repost tonight and I had decided early on that it would be this one. After seeing the previously mentioned artist’s work, I was inspired to then pair my poem with this old rendition of a piece I created long ago. In a world that profits off of and thrives of women being insecure and made to believe they are imperfect in their nature, the most dangerous weapon a woman can carry is Self-Love. // I believe in a world where women have the ability to own their sexuality without judgement. Where women can walk around confidently in their own skin without shame. Where women aren’t defined by who they slept with, or what they choose to wear. Where women can exude all of their feminine energy without being deemed “too passionate”, or worse... “crazy”. Sensuality is an art form. It’s the way you walk, the way you talk, the way you laugh... the way that you dress and smile, cultivated by each woman in her own personally defined way. It’s been ridiculed, shamed and closeted for far too long, begging to be released. The time is now to set the world on fire and to burn alive with passion, making ashes of all that used to be.
