I love watching my daughter in the pool.💦 Swimming lessons = #byebyecomfortzone and #hellogrowth.⠀
.⠀
You know that feeling when you’re REALLY scared to do something...but you MAKE yourself do it anyway? It has been my personal experience (and as a mama on the swimming pool sidelines❤️) that events like this are usually followed by a series of emotions:⠀
⠀
1️⃣ #exhilaration. It is so EXCITING to do something you’re afraid of and come out on the other side. You can actually feel the physical effects in your body...with adrenaline pumping and heart racing. What an incredible reminder that we are ALIVE!⠀
2️⃣ #strength. You realize that YOU ARE STRONG. And if you’re honest with yourself, you know that you are WAY stronger than you ever give yourself credit for.⠀
3️⃣ #awareness. In an instant, your vision is expanded. As soon as you’re on the other side of that scary thing, you can see it so much more clearly. You realize that the fear you felt was created by YOUR OWN MIND...by the story you told yourself over and over about why you shouldn’t do that thing. Why you shouldn’t start that business. Why you shouldn’t apply for that promotion. Why you shouldn’t tell someone how you really feel. Why you shouldn’t raise your hand, speak your truth, and share your incredible ideas. (Why you shouldn’t dunk your face into the water.😉)⠀
4️⃣#knowledge. No matter what the outcome, you WILL learn something. Failure doesn’t mean you have to give up. It’s an opportunity to learn what worked and what didn’t work so that you can do better and be better tomorrow.⠀
.⠀
What is that scary thing you really want to do right now? What is that thing you can’t stop thinking about? What is that thing that gives you butterflies to think about? What is that thing you’ve been trying to talk yourself out of doing? GO DO IT!!!! ✨Have faith that you’ll come out on the other side with exhilaration, strength, awareness, and knowledge that you didn’t have before. Life is short!! Live it up. ☺️
