My design process on my recent collection started with a color palette, research and sketches. I wanted to approach it differently and make a strong, cohesive collection using my instincts and a critical eye. In the past I plan more but wanted to be a bit more free with time to think about the work I’m doing.
First thing I realized as I started is that the colors I chose are my go-to colors and that I’m keeping them going forward on all work. As I started designing I took things out, played with color and added new elements per design. By tweaking and walking away for a bit (to distance myself and return with clarity), I found it worked well and made it come together in about 2.5 weeks working daily.
Loving how the products look all together and how the process led me to a collection that feels authentic. I’m definitely making this my approach next time. .
