With each beat of the drum
I fall into the mystery deeper
As I journey through the realms of the known and unknown
As I call in my spirit animals to walk with me
I call in my ancestors to guide me
I call in the higher realms to shine upon me
The drum
Like the beat of my heart
keeps me in awareness
as the veils fall away and I move through the void
and as I open my minds eye
I am standing in a field
drum in hand
in ancient ritual
as something awakens within me
an ancient memory
I see warriors all around me
preparing for battle
but both sides honor the role I play
for before any battle can commence
the realms must be honored
the land must be opened
so all souls may pass with ease
this sacred role
as I stand with this ancient drum in my hand
remembering
being
trusting
I come back to the now
with the gift of my ancestors
connected to the earth
honouring above
and a sense of trust in who I truly am
