Every year getting an Advent Calendar is a bit bittersweet in regards to my SD.
She’s with us 40% during the school year and the remaining chocolates are a reminder for everyone how many days she misses in our house a month.
So this year we finally did what we talked about doing previous years, I got the Calendar November 1st and my husband got out his custody calendar and remade the dates (which also end on December 15 - when we get to celebrate Christmas with her this year)
Now she gets to start her calendar this Sunday, and it ends on our actual family Christmas. Our holidays will never look picture perfect, but it’s little things like this that can make new traditions and make everyone feel a bit more settled into the holidays. 🖤
