In thirteen days, our little Strawberry Shortcake will be ONE. I cannot believe how quickly this year has flown by. When you’re a kid, grownups always tell you “time is a thief; life moves way too fast.” You don’t believe them until you’re a grownup and you are watching time zip by like you’re going warped speed in the Millennium Falcon with no way to stop or slow down. It’s amazing, exciting, scary, and so sad all at the same time. It’s a rush of emotions you aren’t prepared for, and probably will never be ready for.
Luella may one day soon find me obnoxious, embarrassing, and crazy. She may still want to be my best friend and find me funny and loving. But I hope she loves me as much as I love my parents and looks back on her childhood with fond memories and happiness like I do as well.
