Luna really enjoyed some time indoors with me last night. You may be thinking “are you supposed to stroke an owl?” If they are captive bred owls then the answer is of course yes and the more the better. With captive bred owls, it’s good to get them out at least a couple of times a day for as long as possible for petting. As you can see here she is really enjoying a tickle behind her neck. The more we do this the more she will be comfortable to be around us. Believe it or not it’s good to rub your face around their face and body to establish a bond but only once they are comfortable around you. I managed to do this with her yesterday which was amazing seeing as we had only had her a couple of days!
