My first time visiting a desert was about 2 years ago when I visited Death Valley National Park. I was very surprised by the ecosystem there! I remember thinking, despite its deathly name, how much life and beauty was all around me in the park. Since then, I’ve explored many other deserts, and my perception now is way different from when I used to think deserts were desolate, boring, dry places.
🌵
Deserts contain such a variety of shapes and colors, and you can find so many different kinds of lifeforms... it’s just incredible! One of my favorite places to enjoy those landscapes is in southern Utah.
🌱
This Juniper tree is one of those examples of life in this terrain, sprouting from an unexpected place and surrounded by colorful, unique, rocky canyons. How long has it been here? How many storms, animals, and people have passed through this location? I call this photo “The Juniper Climb.”
