I was embarrassed. You can see the sadness in my eyes. I was embarrassed by how I looked. I was embarrassed by how of shape I was. I was embarrassed that I couldn’t finish my workout.
If I could go back, I would tell myself I’m proud of you!
I’m proud of you for getting started. I’m proud of you for reaching out to someone for help. I’m proud of you for trying. I’m proud of you for not giving up when it felt impossible. You may not feel it yet, but you are so strong and amazing.
That first day was humbling. And so was the second and the third and many days after that. I don’t know if it ever gets easier but I refuse to quit. I remember the days when I would have done anything to look and feel the way I do now.
