PTW ON PHOTOS.
Ok so 1000th post and y’all get what you’ve been asking for - My ED journey!
Photos are from throughout my time, both ill and doing better! 😊 didn’t put anything too graphic in there!
Just gonna dive right in. I both developed and was diagnosed with Anorexia at age 11 - 2004. It actually started after my separation anxiety got really bad and my psychologist made an accidental comment about controlling my intake so I wouldn’t be sick 🤢. Irony. Starting secondary school was also awful for me, I missed most of the first month due to horrendous anxiety and vomiting before ending up in hospital.
The few years after, I spent going in and out of various hospitals and eating disorder units trying to get me better, surprise surprise, didn’t really happen! So I spent a lot of time either away from the family or with my mum while my siblings stayed with other family.
I was so so lucky to experience a remission at around 19, when I was discharged and met an amazing personal trainer who helped get me super fit and into lifting, and my being me made me take it super seriously and as such, I ate like a ninja for a while and got so much better!
That lasted about 2 years until the stress of work overloaded me and relapse came pretty badly. I also got my ASD diagnosis at this point - complicating everything further!!
So for the last 4 years I’ve pretty much been stuck in hospital - including a complex needs EDU which was super hard and really unconventional. I never seem to manage enough to stay out for more than a couple of months so now I’ll be moving to residential once I leave here (WHICH IS SOON!!!) and I really think I’m finally through the worst of it and I’m finally in actual recovery!!! I have a few lasting problems but I feel extremely lucky to have got through it with minimal damage. So that’s about it, any questions, HMU! 💕🌟
