El campanario o campanile de Giotto es la torre campanario de la iglesia Santa María del Fiore, catedral de Florencia, situada en la plaza del Duomo. Es un ejemplo típico de los campaniles italianos, edificios separados de la iglesia destinados exclusivamente a disponer en ellos los campanarios y evitar los daños por vibraciones en el edificio de la iglesia. Su fundación remonta al siglo XIII, fecha del comienzo de la construcción de la nueva catedral dirigida por Arnolfo di Cambio. Con una base cuadrangular de 14,45 metros y una altura de 84,70 metros, está recubierta por mármoles polo cromos como los de la catedral. ¿Sabías que? The bell tower or campanile of Giotto is the bell tower of the church Santa Maria del Fiore, cathedral of Florence, located in the Piazza del Duomo. It is a typical example of the Italian campaniles, separate buildings of the church destined exclusively to dispose in them the belfries and to avoid the damages by vibrations in the building of the church. Its foundation dates back to the thirteenth century, date of the beginning of the construction of the new cathedral led by Arnolfo di Cambio.
