Once upon a time, in the land of Iloilo, a great public servant rose to serve her nation. She became one of the most admirable, most brilliant and one of the toughest public officials in her lifetime.
The Filipino people once had the opportunity to elect her as 12th President of this country but we all knew what happened (she won in the voting but lost in the counting). Through it all, she still remains the most intelligent Senator we ever had. In 2016, despite fighting her sickness on her own, she never failed to serve us one last time. For the very last time, the Filipino people had the opportunity to elect her as 16th President and we failed her this time around.
To the greatest President we never had, thank you for always choosing the Filipinos over and over and over again. Thank you for giving the Philippines the cleanest intention to serve, with extensive knowledge in every bill that you studied and pass, with honesty in every action and most of all, without corruption. You are and will always be a standard of what a true public servant is.
We will forever miss you in the courts, in every hearing and most especially in Senate. We always wish that you were actually there right now to interpellate because your unbiasedness, honesty and wisdom were always for the cause of every Filipino.
